Full course description

In order to carry out any forest harvest operation safely, Maryland loggers must review and follow the OSHA Regulation for Logging Safety. Safety practices to protect loggers is the primary subject of the Maryland-Delaware (MD-DE) Master Logger Program's OSHA Regulations and Logging Safety class. Topics such as skidder, chainsaw, and deck safety will be covered through a series of videos and lectures. The completion of this training requires the viewing of all modules of this class and completing a short assessment test.

Prospective MD-DE Master Loggers will receive MD-DE Master Logger credits for this class as part of their core training toward their MD-DE Master Logger training and current MD-DE Master Loggers will receive four (4) MD-DE Master Logger CEUs. This is a UMD non-credit course. Non-credit courses and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) do not post to the University ofMaryland transcript and do not count towards a student's academic record. Neither a grade nor credit is earned.Students do not receive a University ID card and will not be granted access to University facilities such as recreation,transportation, and campus events.
